On a recent well-earned day off, just before Christmas, my wife and I decided to venture off to Brighton (about 50 miles east of Portsmouth, where I reside, along the south coast). I felt I had to take my camera with me as it would be too good an opportunity to miss. The plan was to capture some moody HDR shots of the Brighton pavilion.
As is quite often the case, despite carrying my camera gear, including tripod, on the park and ride which seems to pick up from just outside Portsmouth, I was foiled yet again. Someone felt that it would be a good idea to put a skating rink, plus mega marquee outside and in front of the best view-point. I took a few but they are not worthy of a mention. So we wandered off to see some of the other sights of Brighton. Down to the beach where i captured this HDR shot of the famous pier.
After merging it in Photomatix (I like the new effect previews and ghost removal in version 4) I added some filter effects in Photoshop to give the image an aged feel. I hope you like it.
